One of Britain's leading wildlife artists
returned yesterday to the place where her career began 33 years ago.
Linda Wain, who works from her home in Belper, joined Royal Crown Derby
in Osmaston Road, Derby, as a school leaver. She trained in painting delicate wildlife patterns on the fine porcelain figures produced at the factory. She left after 10 years and, in 1989, set herself up as a professional artist. Linda produces a variety of wildlife pictures for charities such as the World Wildlife Fund and the RSPCA. Linda said " To achieve fine detail, it is essential to have a well developed brush control. It is these skills that I learned at Royal Crown Derby".
