The Leopard gets its name from the Latin 'Leo' (Lion) and 'Pard', an old term meaning Panther as it was originally thought to be a Lion / Panther hybrid. It's easy to see why this mistake was made; Leopards combine the power and muscle of their larger cousins, the lions, with the grace and stealth of panthers.

Painting the spots Working on the fur
Linda is actively helping her own and other charities working towards a brighter future for these and all Big Cats, mammals and birds.
Although they are doing well in the wild with numbers near 500,000 it is sad to see that loss of habitat and poaching are pushing numbers of several sub-species to extinction.

Developing the highlights and shadows The finished painting
Size for size, the Leopard is the most powerful big cat in the world after the jaguar. Thoroughly adaptable, the leopard lives in areas of forest, mountain, desert and savannah.
In this DVD, Linda paints in Liquid Acrylic. The techniques employed can also be used for Acrylic, Watercolour, Gouache or Oil.
